We had the opportunity to be a part of something amazing this summer. The 2nd annual Weapons of Mass Creation fest in Cleveland, Ohio was the perfect balance of brand new and comfortably established. Everyone who came brought a desire to inspire and be inspired and there was a buzz around the festival the whole time.
It felt like we all witnessed a rare, personal glimpse into something unbelievably sincere right before it turns into a worldwide phenomenon. Themes that ran through the fest were everything from; work hard and never sleep, to slow down, search out timeless aesthetic, and create that for future generations.
We were honored to be a part of the festival where our resident marketeer/mural painter spent some time in the Wall Eye Gallery painting live to an audience of graciously supportive artists and festival goers.
Dan also had the chance to speak, tell a few stories, and swear up a mild storm in the process. We (sorta) recorded the talk which you can check out below. Dan spoke on a few simple habits you can develop to build a stronger foundation for a lasting DIY brand. We’re still feeding off of the feast of creative motivation from the festival and can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year.
