Migrating from Etsy, Shopify, or Squarespace?

If you're currently using Etsy, Shopify, or Squarespace, migrating your store to Big Cartel is straightforward:

Use our Product Import Guide to seamlessly transfer your products to your new store. With our Product import tool, you’ll download the product spreadsheet from your Etsy, Shopify, or Squarespace account and use our steps to upload them to your Big Cartel admin. Once your products are added, you’re mostly done with setting up your Big Cartel store. Move down to the “” section to continue the process of getting your store info over to Big Cartel.

Manually transfer your products to Big Cartel

If you aren't migrating from the above services, there are two ways to manually import your products to the Big Cartel shop.

  1. If you have your product information (product name, pricing, description, variants, etc.), you can make a copy of this spreadsheet and add all of your item details. Once you’ve completed that, use these steps listed here to upload your spreadsheet, and all of your items will get added!

    1. Note: You'll need a Google account to open and copy the import template. Reach out to our support team here if you don't have access to a Google account and we can help!

  2. You can also choose to upload your items individually into your admin and take your time listing item. We even have some features that’ll help expedite that process for you.

    1. Use our 'Copy a Product' feature to duplicate existing listings, making it easy to adjust details like color and size without starting from scratch.

    2. If you’ve signed up for a premium feature use the Bulk Edit feature to easily modify multiple products once.

Finalize your store setup

Now that you have products added here is a little checklist of things to get done before you launch!

  1. Visit the Account section and look over all settings. Be sure to add your Location and currency. Check your Preferences to make sure everything you’d like to use in your store, such as inventory tracking or abandoned cart emails, is enabled. Finally, add a shop description. This is a short and sweet blurb about your shop that’s great for SEO.

  2. Add Shipping rates. We have an article that breaks down our shipping features to help you easily dial in your rates and shipping needs.

  3. Set up checkout. We have two payment options, PayPal and Stripe, and they both offer a variety of different payment options you can enable.

  4. Design your storefront, we have a Customize your store article that get your from store to find. You’ll want to choose the template that fits your brand
