Download your theme code

We recommend you download a copy of your theme code if you’ve made any changes to the Advanced Theme Code HTML or CSS. With a saved copy of your theme code, you can work on new customizations or even experiment with a new theme, and you’ll have the security of a saved copy of your current customized code to reference at any time.

1. Head to the Account page in your admin.

2. Click Design.

3. Click into the Code section, and then under Advanced Theme Code click Download your theme code.

4. You can add your code changes back into your shop by opening up your downloaded theme files, copying the code, and pasting it into the corresponding section of the Advanced Theme Code area (e.g. - changes to products.html will go in the Products page in the code area).

5. When you're finished, click Done and Publish.

Downloading your theme code exports a copy of all the code contained in the Advanced Theme Code section. Tags and scripts placed in the Integration Code section will not be exported because this code persists across theme changes and can only be removed manually or by downgrading from a paid plan to our free Gold plan.
